Open Lecture "Understanding Entrepreneurial Entry: Theoretical Issues and Policymaker Challenges"

Open lecture "Understanding Entrepreneurial Entry: Theoretical Issues and Policymaker Challenges" will take place on June 27.
The event will start at 6 p.m. Vilnius time.
Language: English with simultaneous translation into Russian.
Presenter: Maribel Guerrero, Associate Professor, School of Public Affairs, Global Center for Technology Transfer, Arizona State University
What lecture is about: The traditional and dominant view of entrepreneurial entry has been focused on the concept of “dual economy”, in which there is a conflation of (1) informality and necessity entrepreneurs’ entry associated with low human/financial capital and productivity and (2) formality and opportunity entrepreneurs’ entry associated with positive benefits for growth and development. Using elements of the theory of occupational choice and paying particular attention to the individual's income at the time of the entrepreneurial entry, we proposed/tested four entrepreneurial entry categories: informal-necessity (Type 1), formal-opportunity (Type 2), informal-opportunity (Type 3), and formal-necessity (Type 4).
In order to participate please register no later than 11.00 a.m. Thursday, June 27.
